Terms of service

These terms apply to the FoosArena app and the foosarena.eu website. By using FoosArena you accept them: we wrote them simply, please read them.
The service
FoosArena helps you find partners, book table football tables in bars, record results and follow rankings. It is run by Claudio Dall'Ara (privacy@foosarena.eu). FoosArena does not run the bars or the tables: matches are played in bars, with their own rules, opening hours and prices.
The app is in a test phase (beta): some features may change, have bugs or interruptions.
Free today, and what may change
Today FoosArena is free for players and bars and has no ads. In the future there may be paid services (for bars or for players) and advertising. These rules apply from now on:
- today everything is free and ad-free; we do not promise it will stay that way forever, but every change will be announced first (see below);
- no payment will ever change ELO, karma, fair play, rankings or priority on free seats;
- every paid or advertising novelty will be announced in advance in the app and by email, with an update of these terms; nothing will be charged without your explicit choice;
- never any advertising on the score sheet, on result confirmation or while arriving at the table;
- for people under 18 no personalised advertising, and purchases only with the app stores’ controls.
- any tournaments with an entry fee will have their own rules, to be read and accepted separately.
Your account
- You must be at least 14 and use an email you really use.
- One player account per person. A bar manager uses a bar account for their venue; to play they use their own player account.
- You can sign in with email and password or with your Google account. If you use Google, the Google account stays yours and you protect it: for us it counts like your password.
- Keep your password to yourself: you are responsible for what happens with your account.
- Usernames cannot be changed. No offensive names or names pretending to be FoosArena staff: if yours is reported and the admin agrees, you will have to choose another one.
- Your username, your ELO and the rankings are public. Who plays in a match (names and seats) is visible only to registered users; without an account people see the bar, time, free seats and result.
Fair play
- Record the real results and confirm your opponents’ correct ones.
- If you book, show up: absences lower your karma, and with low karma some features are limited.
- Dispute only when needed: disputes count towards fair play.
- ELO, karma and rankings are a game: they give no right to prizes, except under specific tournament rules.
The admin can cancel matches and remove points gained unfairly, and block accounts that cheat, insult, harass or spam. Automatic alerts help the admin but never block anyone on their own.
The admin’s decisions on disputes and reports are final. If you think there is a mistake, write to privacy@foosarena.eu to explain: we will reply.
Bars
Whoever registers a bar declares that they manage it or can represent it, and enters correct details (name, address, opening hours, tables). The “Verified” badge only comes after the admin contacts the bar through its public contact details. The admin can correct details, remove the account from a bar or remove the bar, for example after well-founded reports.
The manager is responsible for the accuracy of opening hours, tables and availability. FoosArena does not guarantee that the table is free or working at the booked time.
What is not allowed
Do not use FoosArena for spam, harassment, offensive or illegal content, or to try to access other people’s accounts or data or to get around the checks with automated programs.
Content
Usernames, bar and table names and comments on reports must respect the law and other people. We may hide or remove those that do not (also after reports from other users) and ask you to choose new ones.
Liability
We do our best to make FoosArena work well, but the service is provided as is. We are not responsible for what happens in bars, for matches not played, for other users’ behaviour or for table prices. Your statutory rights as a consumer and our liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence always remain.
Ending the relationship
You can delete your account whenever you want from Profile › Delete account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, giving the reason. If one day we close the service, we will announce it at least 30 days in advance and you will be able to download your data.
Changes to the terms
If we change these terms in an important way, we will tell you in the app and by email before they apply. If you do not agree you can delete your account; if you keep using FoosArena, the new terms apply.
Law and contacts
Italian law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the rights and the courts of the country where you live. For any question write to privacy@foosarena.eu. If the versions in different languages differ, the Italian text prevails.
